Steel is sent to a local metal recycler.

It’s then baled and shipped to a larger metal collection depot.

From here it is shredded and exported.

The shredded product is then melted down in a big furnace.

It’s then rolled out into large sheets ready to be used again.

Rolls are bought by can makers to be made into cans for food, paint and aerosols.
